Our Researchers

World-leading researchers working at the cutting edge of medical research.

Ingham Institute for Applied Medical Research has more than 360 researcher affiliates.

In this distinguished group, more than half are practising clinicians across the District’s hospital network (Liverpool, Campbelltown, Bankstown, Bowral, Fairfield). Our researchers also have academic appointments with one of our two affiliate universities (UNSW and WSU), as well as University of Wollongong, University of Sydney and other eminent universities.

Our innovative research network

Ingham Institute’s network of Research Centres, Clinical Academic Units and Cross-cutting Platforms creates an efficient and highly effective Institute for research collaboration and innovation. This integrated model ensures relevance and impact.

Locally driven research with global impact

Our research is guided by the South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD) clinical service plans and unique population needs. It promotes new prevention strategies and diagnostics as well as more effective treatments and care.

Our research is locally driven, nationally significant, with global impact.

Training the next generation of researchers

Ingham Institute is currently educating a group of more than 90 PhD students from four leading universities.

These students are actively involved in clinical trials, of which Ingham Institute has conducted more than 500.
