Paediatrics

Every child is born with potential. Not every child is born with the same chance to reach it.

Nearly half of Australian children starting school are not developmentally on track. The cost of late intervention now exceeds $22.3 billion annually. This research is redesigning the systems that serve children and families so that care reaches every child who needs it.

Key initiatives

  • Closing the gap in developmental outcomes for children aged 0 to 5 through proportionate universal child and family health nursing services
  • Improving early identification and response to youth mental health risks across schools, emergency departments and primary care
  • Expanding equitable access to ADHD diagnosis and treatment through general practice
  • Reducing hospitalisation and improving outcomes for children living with Type 1 Diabetes from disadvantaged backgrounds

Please give today to ensure all our children, wherever they are, have the very best start in life so they can reach their full potential.

This is more than research. It is a blueprint for a fairer future in child and adolescent health. One where every child, regardless of postcode or circumstance, has the opportunity to thrive.
