Natalie joined Ingham Insitute in 2012 and is responsible for overseeing the operational aspects of scientific research within Ingham Institute.

With a strong background in scientific management, she coordinates and optimises laboratory activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and promoting a culture of safety and efficiency. Natalie works closely with researchers, faculty, and external stakeholders to streamline processes, implement best practice, and enhance the overall effectiveness of Ingham Institute’s scientific endeavours.

With a rich background in scientific management and a strong commitment to animal welfare and research support, Natalie brings over 35 years of experience to her current role as Scientific Operations Manager.

Natalie oversees Workplace Health and Safety (WHS), Laboratories, and Animal Facilities, ensuring strict compliance with industry regulations. Natalie leads a team of passionate animal care and laboratory support personnel and is driven by her passion for advancing animal welfare and supporting leading-edge research initiatives.

Natalie is actively engaged in industry bodies including the Association of Biosafety for Australia and New Zealand (ABSANZ), the Australian and New Zealand Laboratory Animal Association (ANZLAA), TAFE advisory, and representation on University of New South Wales (UNSW) and Western Sydney University (WSU) Animal Care and Ethics Committees. In 2023 Natalie was recognised for her significant contribution to animal care and ethics, receiving Life Membership to ANZLAA.

Prior to Ingham Institute, Natalie held roles at Monash University, Murdoch Children’s Research Institute, UNSW, Children’s Cancer Institute, and The Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute.

Natalie holds qualifications in Applied Science with a focus on Animal Technology, Training and Assessment, and WHS.
