About the role 

Are you completing your New South Wales (NSW) Higher School Certificate (HSC) in 2026 and have a strong interest in medical research, science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM)? 

If so, this could be the role for you! 

Ingham Institute is seeking motivated and enthusiastic Junior Research Administrative Assistants to provide administrative and clerical support to Clinical Trial Units and Researchers across South Western Sydney Local Health District and the Ingham Institute. 

With a target commencement date of mid-November 2026, this is an excellent opportunity for a Year 12 student to gain valuable experience in a professional healthcare and research environment while contributing to research that improves health outcomes for the community. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Provide administrative and clerical support to research teams and Clinical Trial Units. 
  • Complete basic data entry and maintain records within organisational research platforms. 
  • Respond to general enquiries via phone, email and in person in a professional, confidential and responsive manner. 
  • Liaise effectively with researchers, managers and team members to support service delivery. 
  • Assist with maintaining accurate records, documentation and administrative processes. 
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and workplace health and safety activities. 
  • Demonstrate behaviours that align with organisational values and contribute positively to team culture. 
  • Participate in training, development and performance feedback activities. 
  • Exercise sound judgement in undertaking routine tasks and escalate more complex matters as required. 
  • Undertake other duties within the scope of the role. 

 

About You 

The ideal candidate will: 

  • Be a current Year 12 student completing the NSW HSC in 2026. 
  • Have a genuine interest in medical research, healthcare, clinical trials, or STEM-related fields. 
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and a high level of professionalism. 
  • Be confident using computers and Microsoft Office applications. 
  • Show initiative, curiosity and a willingness to learn. 
  • Be able to work collaboratively within a team environment. 
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
