Introducing Students to Biomedical Research

The Ingham Institute’s Biological Resource Unit is staffed by a passionate, creative and committed team.

Our Animal and Laboratory Technicians seek impact not only through their contribution to quality medical research, but to their industry more broadly.

The Ingham Institute recently hosted Australia’s first AREA Outreach Program (Animal Research Education and Awareness), in partnership with Australian and New Zealand Laboratory Animal Association (ANZLAA).

AREA introduces high school students to laboratory animal science and the career opportunities in biomedical research.

A group of year 9 and 10 students came to the Institute to learn about the crucial work done here, and explore it as a career pathway.

The success of the pilot means we are currently seeking interest from schools in the Macarthur region, for upcoming 2023 AREA Student Days.
