Ingham Institute researchers are leaders in their field. They are at the forefront of the most advanced medical breakthroughs and clinical discoveries, and are committed to improving and saving lives. To foster these innovations, postdoctoral fellows and research students work with internationally recognised mentors and in close partnership with Australia’s top teaching hospitals and universities.

The Institute has more than 42 research groups focused on exploring new medical approaches across six streams including:

  • Population & Health Services Research
  • Injury & Rehabilitation Research
  • Mental Health Research
  • Robotics & Health Technology.

Our researchers have access to state-of-the-art facilities and equipment. Research and technical staff work in purpose-built research facilities on the campus of Liverpool Hospital – the largest teaching hospital in the southern hemisphere – where our discoveries are transferred directly into clinical practice and patient care.The Ingham Institute is also the first medical research institute in Australia with an MRI-Linac project, which will redefine and improve radiation therapy treatment for cancer patients.
